From the March of Remembrance Facebook group:

I thought it would be good to generate a list of slogans that we can share with our March participants if they want to carry banners and posters. Although this is primarily a prayer event, it is a public event and those that see us will be curious as to who we are and what we are doing.

Clearly, we need to be careful to follow the intent and spirit of the March of Remembrance, so we want to avoid offending or provoking others in a negative way if possible. Some of the vision statements to guide us as we think about this...

The March of Remembrance is:
  • a statement against all forms of oppression but specifically anti-semitism. It is also an opportunity for people everywhere to break the silence of indifference.
  • an inter-faith event and a memorial observance for Jewish people, so please be considerate of that. Be extremely sensitive on this day of remembering a great tragedy and please don't bring christian signs or banners.
  • not a protest.
  • not a political rally.
  • not a publicity stunt.
  • It is simply eye-witnesses giving truthful testimony so this generation can be educated by the facts of history.

Feel free to weigh in with what you think, we will keep a running summary here!
